Aoyagi Natsumi+Hosoi Miyu

Aoyagi Natsumi

Born in 1990 in Tokyo. Graduated with an MFA in Film and New Media from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2016. Currently based in Tokyo. Aoyagi’s practice centers on time-based media, developing project-based works through fieldwork and research. She has been selected for the JUMP Artist+Curator International Collaboration Programme, with a new work to be presented in Portugal in 2026. She is the founder of honkbooks.

Her latest exhibitions include “ICC Annual 2024 – Faraway, so close” (NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC], Tokyo, 2024) and “Logbook of a Sea Goddess” (Towada Art Center, Aomori, 2022. The poetry collection “Done Being Nurtured” (thoasa, 2022) received the 28th Nakahara Chuya Prize (2023).

She participated in “Sound Atlas #1: Sounds from the Pole” (Civic Creative Base Tokyo [CCBT], 2025) and “Outdoor Promenade Performance-Exhibition ‘Pavilion ZERO: Aquarium of Air’ by Fuse Rintaro” (Civic Creative Base Tokyo [CCBT], 2025). She contributed to the production of "'TOKAS Hongo Guide Map' Audio Guide" (2025), and is scheduled to lead "OPEN SITE 11: Listening to the Drawn Lines to Hongo " (Tokyo Arts and Space Hongo, 2026).

Hosoi Miyu

Born in 1993 in Aichi Prefecture. Graduated with a BA in Policy Management from Keio University in 2016. Currently based in Tokyo. Hosoi’s practice centers on sound installations and theatre pieces. Through her projects, she explores both the possibilities and limitations of sound as a medium of communication. She is a recipient of a Japan Foundation grant, with a residency at Cemeti Institute for Art and Society (Indonesia) scheduled for October 2026. 

Her latest exhibitions and performances include “Roppongi Crossing 2025: What Passes Is Time. We Are Eternal.” (Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, 2025-2026), “Feel the Sound” (Barbican Centre, London, 2025), and “Sound Around 005: World Operator” (ROHM Theatre Kyoto, 2025).
