Haroon Mirza

Born in London in 1977. Based in London. Using media including sculpture, installation, and performance, Mirza incorporates interference and other phenomena occurring between electricity and sound or light into his practice to question conventional rules and understanding of the processes involved. His interests also span areas from acid house socio-political commentaries to cymatics and shamanism.
Recent solo exhibitions include Everything Was, Is and Always Will Be (Fire Station, Qatar, 2026), Waves and Forms (Aberdeen Art Gallery, Scotland, 2020), and The Construction of an Act (The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Australia, 2019). He participated in Sharjah Biennial 11 (UAE, 2013), the 7th Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale (China, 2012), and was awarded a Silver Lion at the 54th Venice Biennale (Italy, 2011).
