Julian Charrière

Born in Morges in 1987. Lives and works in Berlin. Charrière works across performance, sculpture, film, and photography, creating works that stem from fieldwork in liminal places, ranging from sites of resource extraction to volcanic calderas, remote ice fields, and nuclear testing grounds. By immersing himself in places deeply marked by geological and cultural histories, he imagines alternative ways of perceiving planetary time and explores shifting concepts of nature.
Major exhibitions include Hard Core (Mona, Tasmania, Australia, 2026), Midnight Zone (Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, Wolfsburg, Germany, 2026), and Kairos Resounding, a two-person exhibition with Laurent Grasso (798CUBE, Beijing, China, 2026).
