Kawita Vatanajyankur

Born in Bangkok in 1987, where she lives and works. Vatanajyankur is known for her video and photography installation works in which she uses her own body to create representations of the domestic labor that is performed by women and of the workings of industrial machines. The central theme of her work is human alienation in a mass-consumption society, and in recent years she has been using AI to explore memory and the body. Yuz Museum in Shanghai is presenting her solo exhibition Memory Machine this year (2026).

Major group exhibitions include Everyday Practices at the Singapore Art Museum (Singapore, 2024), The Spirits of Maritime Crossing at the Venice Biennale (Venice, Italy 2024) and Bangkok Art Biennale (Bangkok, Thailand, 2022). At TOKYO ATLAS, she will present a new video work created in the underground parking lot in Aomi.
