Kobayashi Muku

Born in 1992 in Tokyo. Graduated with an MFA in Sculpture, Kyoto City University of Arts in 2019. He is currently based in Saitama Prefecture. Beginning with the "movement" of things, Kobayashi creates sculptures and installations by assembling devices that generate forms of discord. By drawing analogies between these mechanisms and other objects or systems, he observes the conceptual leaps that emerge from such structures. He also performs as part of the music duo "Shōjiki" with Tokisato Mitsuru.
His recent exhibitions include "Shan-Bon-Men, and Plate" (GASBON METABOLISM, Yamanashi, 2025), "Everyday Enchantment" (CHANEL NEXUS HALL, Tokyo, 2024). He participated in "OPEN SITE7: When the tortoise stretches its front paws to the stone, as in Euyu of Nefus..." (Tokyo Arts and Space Hongo, 2022) and "TOKYO EXPERIMENTAL FESTIVAL Vol. 9: Yoko toka Shita toka" (Tokyo Wonder Site Hongo, 2014).
