Tanizaki Momoko

Born in 1991 in Tokyo. Graduated with an MFA from Tokyo Zokei University in 2016. She is currently based in Yugawara, Kanagawa Prefecture. Tanizaki engages with painting as a medium capable of laying bare raw emotion, exploring its power to accept and heal from negative—and other—experiences. She aims to grasp the energies latent in subtle, everyday sensibilities and in the routines of ordinary life, and to render them visible through her work.

Her recent exhibitions include "The Noisy City" (tata bookshop/gallery, Tokyo, 2026), "Where did the birds come from? I am captivated by them and cannot resist being drawn to them." (COPYCENTER GALLERY, Tokyo, 2025), "Midnight Drifter" (soda, Kyoto, 2025).

She participated in the Exchange Residency Program [Quebec], 2023, Tokyo Arts and Space, and "TOKAS-Emerging 2019: lonely girl already time" (Tokyo Arts and Space Hongo).
