Overview
Aomi Minami-Futo Park is located next to the Aomi Container Terminal, a bonded area lined with large shipping containers and gantry cranes. The park offers views of Tokyo Port's international maritime activities, including the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal and the Oi Container Terminal across the water.
The park hosts projects such as Abraham Poincheval's performance work La Bouteille (2015–), in which the artist lives inside a giant bottle to explore questions of privacy and the nature of public space, and The Goat's Eye (2020–), a project led by Tsuyoshi Ozawa's laboratory at Tokyo University of the Arts that explores sustainable approaches to artistic creation, research, and expression through the raising of goats.
Set along the waterfront of the international city of Tokyo, the park is envisioned as a campsite or village-like space where artists and participants can engage in dialogue and reflect on alternative forms of social practice and the future of communities through coexistence not only among people, but also with animals and plants.
This tour takes visitors through a variety of interactive artworks that engage all five senses. As the exhibitions and programs vary from day to day, each visit offers a unique experience.
A guide will accompany participants throughout the tour, so we encourage you to actively engage with the artworks, ask questions, and share your thoughts and impressions.
